The IMPACT Award has been presented since 1988 and is the only award where commerce and community come together. The IMPACT Award recognizes local, for profit businesses that have:
Responded to adversity and won
Contributed to the Greater Richmond Community
Offered a quality work environment for their employees
Grown their business in both gross sales and number of employees
Demonstrated innovation in business practices, new products, services, and ideas

The Process
Each company is nominated for the IMPACT Award. Companies are welcome to nominate themselves. >> Download Nomination Form
Once the nominations are in, applications are sent out to all eligible companies. The companies will have approximately 5 weeks to complete and return the applications. Application Deadline for 2008 will be announced soon. >> Download Sample Applications from two previous IMPACT Award winners
Copies of each application are made and distributed to each committee member at the July Committee meeting.
During the next month, committee members review and rate each company on their rating sheets. At the August committee meeting, the five finalists are selected.
In September, a full day is devoted to visiting each of the five finalist companies. At this point the slate is “wiped clean” and the committee bases the final decision on what is seen and heard that day. At the dinner following the day of site visits, the IMPACT Award winner is selected and kept Top Secret.
The IMPACT Award is presented in November at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner.
