This discussion will focus on the Card Check Bill: what it is and what it means to your business.
The misnamed "Employee Free Choice Act," better known as Card Check, would essentially abolish private ballot elections in union organizing drives. The proposed federal legislation - blocked in 2007 but certain to resurface in 2009 - would make it far easier and cheaper for unions to penetrate American businesses and especially small businesses.
The Card Check Bill was blocked in the U.S. Senate in 2007, but it is no secret that it will be a top legislative priority in 2009. Even now, organized labor is seeking to amass over 1 million volunteers to help it lobby for the bill. Learn from a top authority what this means for your business, what is being done to block the legislation.
RSVP: Space is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. Reserve your seat by contacting Katie Hellebush at (804) 237-1453 by August 12, 2008.
