MISSION STATEMENT 
The mission of the Henrico Business Council of the Greater Richmond Chamber is to identify and address issues of interest to the business community within Henrico County. The council will share issues and proposed tactics by way of the Chamber’s Business Council Forum, Government Affairs Committee, and monthly inVision: Henrico networking breakfasts. The tools and tactics include:

  • Advocate for business located and operating in Henrico County
  • Focus on local and regional issues important to Henrico business community 
  • Identify, research, discuss, coordinate, and publicly address issues as necessary
  • Consult and coordinate with the GRC along the way.

HENRICO BUSINESS COUNCIL PURPOSE & MISSION 

  • To be an advocate for businesses located and operating in Henrico County
  • Focus on local and regional issues important to the Henrico County business community
  • To build strong relationships with the Henrico County Board of Supervisors, County Administration, and Henrico County School Board 
  • Identify, research, discuss, coordinate, and publicly address local issues as necessary
  • Consult and coordinate with Greater Richmond Chamber

HENRICO BUSINESS COUNCIL ISSUES (2007-2008)

  • Education – The Henrico Business Council recognizes the important link between quality childhood development and education and the economic vitality of the region.   Among their key initiatives is their support of the Henrico Teacher Awards, Henrico School Supply Challenge, Career Day at Moody Middle School, support of technical training, and mentoring opportunities.   • Economic Development – The Henrico Business Council recognizes economic development as vital to the success and growth of the county including expanded business development in the eastern portion of Henrico County. The council is actively involved in supporting the growth and expansion of existing business through participation in the Business First Greater Richmond program, a collaborative effort of the Henrico County Economic Development Authority, the Greater Richmond Chamber, and the Greater Richmond Partnership.  
  • Business Connections - A key initiative of the Henrico Business Council is to focus on connecting with the business community of Henrico County by offering valuable programming centered on their needs and interests, providing networking opportunities, and recognizing those who are cited for their success. You may submit feedback about the inVision Henrico networking breakfasts or suggest speakers and topics. 
  • Regional Affairs - The Henrico Business Council supports regional issues such as transportation and affordable workforce housing and develops effective strategies to address such issues in Henrico County.
  • Government Affairs - The Henrico Business Council is tasked to identify and address issues of interest to the business community of Henrico County.
