Hanover Legislative Reception :: The Hanover Business Council in partnership with the Hanover Association of Businesses and Chamber of Commerce presented the 2010 Hanover Legislative Reception on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Richmond Times-Dispatch, Atlee Station, 8460 Times Dispatch Blvd., Mechanicsville from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  The event provided the opportunity for the business community and members of both organizations to meet and greet local and state elected officials. > view photos

Hanover Lunch Bunch :: Word-of-mouth is the most powerful form of marketing there is, and we’d like to help you get the word out!  The Hanover Business Council of the Greater Richmond Chamber cordially invites you to meet other Hanover County business leaders.  What a better way is there to spread the news about you and your business while developing close business relationships during a casual lunch?  We’ll take care of all the details from making your reservation to grouping you with other Hanover County Chamber members and business leaders.  All you have to do is show up and cover the cost of your lunch order.

The Workforce Subcommittee :: a subcommittee of the Government Affairs, addresses the importance of providing, organizing, and marketing available resources for those in search of employment and businesses in need of qualified talent.  The committee continues to develop effective resources for job seekers, employees, and employers.

The Georgetown School ::  The Georgetown School, an alternative education program in Hanover County, was recently recognized by the National Dropout Prevention Center as a Model Program for specific prevention, intervention, and recovery programs having a significant impact on dropout-related risk factors.   Nationally, only 177 programs were recognized as “Model Programs”.  > read more

Hanover Career Student Resource, Inc. ::  First established in 2002, the career guide provides Hanover County students with a directory of Hanover County and Richmond area businesses offering employment and training opportunities.  Information is also offered through the E-Guide, an electronic database version of the business profiles shown in the career guide.  Access the HCSR here

Urban Development Zones ::  A bill to amend and reenact legislation regarding urban development zones requiring localities with populations greater than 100,000 revise their comprehensive plans in accordance with provisions in HB2322 governing urban development areas serviced by water and sewer.  To review proposed legislation click here.
