IMPACT Award

Since 1988, The IMPACT Award has brought commerce and community together. The IMPACT Award is presented annually, and recognizes local businesses that have made an IMPACT:

           • On the Greater Richmond Region’s economy
           • By contributing to the Greater Richmond community
           • On the lives of their employees
           • Through innovation within their industry

The Business Council Awards, new in 2010, recognize an outstanding company located in each jurisdiction (Henrico, Hanover, Chesterfield and the city of Richmond.) The IMPACT Award winner, along with the winners of the Business
Council Awards, will be honored at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner in November.

Nominations for the 2010 awards closed June 15, 2010.

Application Process For the IMPACT Award

Each company is nominated for the IMPACT Award. Companies are welcome to nominate themselves. Once the nominations are in, applications are sent to all eligible companies. Companies have approximately 5 weeks to complete and return the applications.

Committee members review and rate each company. At the August committee meeting, the finalists are selected. In September, a full day is devoted to visiting each of the finalist companies. At this point the slate is “wiped clean” and the committee bases the final decision on what is seen and heard that day.
