The Chamber is only as good as the sum of its parts, and those parts consist of you! Outside of attending events, seminars, and meetings, the following are several opportunities where you can further share your expertise, time, and energies for the betterment of the Chamber experience.

Government Affairs

Develop the Chamber’s 2007-08 General Assembly legislative agenda and support the Business Councils’ focus and positions on local legislative issues. Contact John Easter for more information.

Business Council Forum
To identify and address issues of interest to the business community within their assigned jurisdiction. Each Council will view such issues with a regional perspective and share such issues and proposed solutions with the other Business Councils and the Chamber Government Affairs Committee via the Business Council Forum. Membership
Actively participate and help with acquisition and retention of members with a focus on our Lead Investor tiers. Oversee affinity programs. Contact Richard Wintsch for more information.

Marketing
Provide counsel, guidance and direction on project related Chamber marketing activities with the purpose to increase awareness and ensure continuity of the Chamber “message.” Contact Stephanie Kirksey for more information.

Operations
Provide oversight of the Chamber’s finance, human resources, information technology, telecommunications and facilities management functions. Contact Richard Wintsch for more information.

Small Business
Oversee the implementation of new programs and services for the Chamber’s model small business initiative. Contact Mike Leonard for more information.

Ambassadors
The purpose of the Ambassadors Program is to increase Chamber membership and efficiently orient new Chamber members by utilizing the talents of exceptional volunteers to conduct an on-going program of new member solicitation and education. Ambassadors represent the Chamber and are required to apply and interview for consideration. Contact Richard Wintsch for more information.

IMPACT Award
The IMPACT committee is responsible for choosing the winner of the IMPACT Award, presented each year at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner. The role of the committee includes nominating deserving companies, reviewing applications, site visits for finalists, and ultimately voting for the IMPACT winner. Events & Programs
This new multi jurisdictional committee will serve to manage the big picture of events (quantity, quality, theme/focus/purpose and location) at the aggregate level with a goal of providing the “right” mix of events throughout the year and maximizing value from the member perspective. HYPE - Helping Young Professionals Engage
The Chamber’s HYPE program brings together young professionals (21-40) in the Greater Richmond Region through social, educational and professional development programs and networking events.
