Creative Capital (i.e.*) 

The region’s best kept secret is its cutting edge community, which includes innovative businesses, ad agencies, art galleries and museums, universities, cool neighborhoods, quirky shops and an active, young workforce.

The Chamber recognizes that a healthy creative class is vital to a high quality of life and continued economic development across the region.  

In 2011, the Chamber partnered with more than a dozen organizations and businesses to launch an exciting new initiative, i.e.*, which supports and accelerates cross-industry creativity and innovation. Since the initial launch in June, the initiative has sponsored workshops, bar talks and forums, and the Chamber has created a new Director of Innovation staff position.

Although the traditional Latin meaning for the expression "i.e." is "IdEst," or "that is," this initiative encourages another meaning…Innovation Excellence. In other words, Richmond, i.e.* = Creative Capital!
