A Message from the Henrico Business Council Chair, Troy Bell
Welcome to the Henrico Business Council!
As a Henrico County-focused element of the Greater Richmond Chamber, the Henrico Business Council (we’re out and about, so look for “#HenBC” on Twitter) is proud to represent a cross section of some of the region’s finest organizations, from small businesses to publicly-traded Fortune 1000 firms.
The Henrico Business Council is a dedicated advocate for local businesses. Reflective of members’ interest, we offer frequent engagement and volunteer opportunities via our Advocacy, Education, and MMP (Marketing, Membership, and Programs) committees.
If your business values opportunities to support economic development, to maintain and enhance educational efforts for tomorrow’s workforce, and to network and build relationships with business and governmental leaders in Henrico County and beyond, you’ll find a great return on time invested via participation in the Henrico Business Council.
We enthusiastically welcome you aboard!
Sincerely,
Troy Bell, Chair

The Henrico Business Council’s mission is dedicated to supporting the business community in Henrico and surrounding counties by:
• Connecting members of the business community through monthly networking events
• Identifying and addressing key issues of interest to the business community
• Keeping the business community informed on state and local government information, as well as providing news, information and resources relevant to the county
• Providing engagement opportunities through Henrico Business Council Committees
The Council is comprised of volunteers from the county’s business community, who lend time, resources and knowledge to address key issues of interest to the community as a whole, primarily focusing on business related topics. Currently, the Business Council is focusing on the following priorities:
• Advocacy – The Henrico Business Council implements local government relations activities. They identify and address issues of interest to the business community within Henrico County and advocate for solutions with local, state, and federal elected and appointed officials. They maintain ongoing relationships with elected and appointed officials. The committee also provides direct representation to the GRC Government and Community Affairs subcommittees.
• Education - The Henrico Business Council works with Henrico County Public Schools and other education based institutions on business-education initiatives and business engagement.
• Marketing/Membership/Programs – The Henrico Business Council provides significant input in identifying and suggesting interesting and informative program content for the series of local networking events and in offering alternate events. The council also recognizes and promotes business as a vital component of the thriving community and works to ensure the value of our members’ experience with Chamber events and programs based in Henrico County.
